AI for Families™ is a publication, educational platform, and newsletter created by me 🙋🏼♀️, writer and technology advocate Shannon Kimberly Edwards, to help parents, guardians, caregivers, and educators understand artificial intelligence and guide children through a rapidly changing technology landscape.
Artificial intelligence is becoming part of everyday life—shaping how children learn, communicate, create, and access information. Yet many families are navigating these changes without clear guidance.
AI for Families was created to close that gap by providing practical tools, ethical frameworks, and accessible explanations that help families make confident decisions about AI technologies.

The Human Side of AI
Rather than focusing only on the technology itself, AI for Families emphasizes the human side of artificial intelligence—including values, responsibility, creativity, and digital literacy.
The platform provides practical support for families navigating AI, including:

AI for Families also recognizes that parents, caregivers, schools, and communities are all part of the environment in which children encounter AI. The goal is not only to help families react to new technologies, but to help them shape how those technologies are used responsibly.
