Apple is Sending Siri to AI School
You should always check your iPhone privacy settings to see what new feature you’ve been automatically opted into. That’s how I knew Siri was on the move (within each app, go to “Siri & Search” to find the settings). The New York Times reports that we can expect Apple to announce that Siri will become more “conversational and versatile” at its developer conference on June 10. It’s not that you won’t find the changes cool, helpful, etc., but it’s good to know that dear Siri will be “learning” more actively from you now (unless you adjust those settings)… READ MORE»

“Open Source” is Good (in my Humble Opinion)
You don’t need to get into the weeds to stay on top of the debate regarding AI technology. One area of contention is around “open source” technology (which means freely available to a wider swath of developers). The big guys (such as OpenAI) keep their code closed and a secret. Of course, some fear open source tech could be abused by bad actors. I think people are smart. And good policy to protect consumers without throttling innovation is possible.
